Tours are open to everyone, not solely for guests of Damascus Hostel. If you are in Damascus and would like to join a tour, please call in or contact us to discuss your requirements.

We can organize your tour of Syria according to your interests, length of time and budget and advise you on trips and excursions.We can assist you with information on, ruins, sites, Roman, Grecko /Byzantine,Christians Crusaders,or Islamic sites We have a modern 6 seater mini van, 4 seater sedan, 8 seater van or 11 seater mini bus.

Some times guests group together and split cost of the tour, that is, car and driver. When you get to the site you can either go alone or hire a local tour guide on the site for a couple of hours the cost around sp 500.Our driver is not a professional tour guide.

In Damascus you can be met with a local tour guide (usually a student doing English lit ) to show you the main tourists attractions like Omayyad Mosque (tomb of st.John), Souk Hamedie (shopping and sample famous Bakadesh ice cream), visit the gold souk. Souk Bozoorie(for herbs/spices ,sweets, perfums, ), Azem Palace(Ottoman era),Bab Touma, Bab Sharki, St.Paul’s Window (St.Paul escaped over the wall in a basket), Hananeia Chapel, and the Citadel.You may also visit the National Museum and Takeyeh Sulamaineyeh (handcraft bazaar) just out side the old city. Of course not to be missed is a lunch or dinner at famous restaurants serving world best Middle Eastern food,(Alkhawali,or Beit Jabri) and finish with a thick rich coffee at the land mark in Damascus Nofara caffe in Qimarie.
(Driving time Amman-Damascus-Damascus-Beirut is normally 3 hours including border crossing formalities. This is provided you already have a visa for Syria. People from EU can get a visa on the border, it takes about 20 minutes. USA passport holders will have to wait between 2 and 6 hours to process their visa.)
