Surprise Birth at Hostel

Posted on | April 11, 2009 | No Comments

Four babies were safely delivered on Good Friday at Damascus Hostel. Brave mother Salima delivered them quietly on the morning of Good Friday. Salima was formerly known as Salim, the Hostel’s pet hamster. We had noticed that Salim, or Carrot head as he (she) was affectionately known, was a trifle on the fat side but no-one wanted to comment too loudly and upset a larger sized member of the animal kingdom. The younger guests were delighted. The female guests were concerned and astonished to see Salima running on her wheel only hours after giving birth. They advised her to rest and stop reading women’s magazines which boasted of regaining one’s post-birth figure immediately after birth. Salima is proving to be a very competent mother but has asked for a day ot two before photos are posted on the site.
